Eric Ripert - Jacques Pepin - Pixar Dessert CayFilm 2017 - Part 1


This year, Calia-tivity Productions became a sponsor of the Cayman Islands' International Film Festival, CayFilm. This is truly one of my favorite film festivals - it is a wonderful place to meet people, watch new films and enjoy the CaymanKind lifestyle. This is my second festival and I look forward to many more.

Am I the only one who found the license plate funny?

This year, CayFilm launched a "Food in Film" section of the festival and Calia-tivity was proud to be a part of that launch...After showing the documentary about the Cayman Cookoff that Tony Mark directed and I produced, I sat down for a Q&A with Chef Eric Ripert.

Emmy, James Beard and Peabody-award winning producer, Peter Stein joined us this year for the showing of three of PBS American Masters' films. Peter, the former producer of Jacques Pepin's television show showed his very touching documentary Jacques Pepin: The Art of Craft and joined us for a Q&A afterwards.

The food at the Ritz Carlton, Grand Cayman is always amazing - due to the incredible work of Chef Frederic Morineau and his incredible team.

On the third night of the festival, Chef Eric Ripert hosted a dinner at Blue by Eric Ripert that was - exceptional..the scallops literally melted in your mouth.

I just loved the closing night Pixar-themed dessert buffet in honor of Loren Carpenter's lifetime achievement award...how cute is this?

and of course - it's always a pleasure to see Loren Carpenter and his wife, Rachel - Congratulations, Loren on a well deserved Lifetime Achievement Award.
