Tuesday, May 19 — Expression How you show up and communicate your voice
Good morning Creative Signature community.
Today we are thinking about New York. Missing our friends there. And celebrating what they are making happen this week.

This is the last week of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. The final episode airs Thursday May 21 — after 11 years, 1,801 episodes, Jon Stewart, Steven Spielberg and David Byrne all showing up this week to say goodbye. Colbert's primary concern as he heads into the finale is the staff — the writers, producers, crew who will be out of work after Thursday night. That says everything about the man. Going out gracefully, with gratitude, thinking about his people first. That is why he has earned the respect of so many in the creative community.
We are also sending love to our friends at The Kelly Clarkson Show as it wraps its run. Another team of extraordinary creative people who showed up every single day and made something joyful. The people behind the camera — the writers, producers, directors, assistants — they are the ones who made those shows what they were. Today we see you and we celebrate you.
And this Memorial Day, our friend Roman Baca and his extraordinary company Exit12 bring their fourth annual Stories of War to the deck of the Intrepid Museum on May 29 — an evening of dance, live music and storytelling created alongside veterans, artists and military-connected individuals, exploring the effects of war on both veterans and civilians. Veterans, refugees and artists coming together through movement, through shared weight, through trust — turning a former machine of war into a place of healing and expression. Roman built something that matters. Go if you can. Tell everyone you know.
The world is full of people making meaningful, beautiful, necessary work. This week, let's make sure they know we see them.
What's Trending
The Colbert farewell is everywhere this week and the conversation underneath it is worth paying attention to. People aren't just mourning a show — they're mourning the idea that a room full of writers and comedians and producers could still make something that mattered, every single night, for eleven years. That kind of consistent, committed creative Expression is what people are hungry for right now. And they recognise it when they see it go.
Today's Prompt
Think of someone in your creative world — a collaborator, a colleague, a friend — whose work you have never properly told them you admire.
Send them a message today. Not a like. A message. Tell them what their work has meant to you. That is Expression too. You've got this.
