Good morning Creative Signature community.​

Happy Tuesday — and if you are in the US, happy day after Memorial Day.

If you are here in the UK, happy day after the Spring Bank Holiday. Either way, it is one of those Tuesdays where half the world is playing catch up and the other half is pretending they are not.

I will be honest with you. I am firmly in the catch up camp this morning.

It is midterm here for many of the English schools — though not for the international schools — and I find myself quietly missing those long slow midterm weeks. The US schools are winding down now, heading into summer. We have another month and a week before we break — and then nine weeks off.

Nine weeks. I looked at that number this morning and thought — what on earth are we going to do with nine weeks? And then I stopped myself. Because I know that in a few years those nine weeks will be gone. My son will be off living his own life and I will be wishing with everything I have for just one of them back. It is very, very bittersweet.

So this week I am choosing to be present. To notice. To be grateful for every chaotic, wonderful, exhausting moment of it.

And in between — I am getting ready for SXSW London. Which means setting up meetings, preparing conversations, and doing the thing that does not come naturally to me as an introvert — walking into a room full of people and telling them who I am.

I have been thinking about this a lot this week. Because in my book — literally, in Personal Branding for Creative Entrepreneurs — this is exactly where the Creative Signature Framework lives. Not on a stage with a microphone. In the hallway. At the coffee stand. In the thirty seconds before a panel starts. Those are the moments where your Creative Signature either shows up for you or leaves you scrambling.

So how do I prepare? I go back to Clarity. I remind myself of my three words. I know my story. And I trust that the right people will recognize me — not because I performed well, but because I showed up as myself.

That is always the answer.
