Last night I watched Stephen Colbert's final episode of The Late Show. And at the end — when every single member of the team was recognized on stage — I completely fell apart. In the best possible way.  Because I know that feeling. I worked on a daily show for five years. And what people on the outside don't always understand is that a daily show is not a job. It is a family. You are together every single day — writers, producers, directors, assistants, camera operators, editors — grinding through deadlines, solving impossible problems, laughing until you can't breathe, and showing up for each other no matter what. You become so tightly knit that the connections last a lifetime.

Those friendships don't end when the show does. My friends from those years are still my people. We wind up working together again. We check in. We show up. We are family.

To everyone leaving The Late Show this week — and to the extraordinary team at The Kelly Clarkson Show as they wrap their run too — you made something that mattered. Every single one of you. The ones whose names people know and the ones whose names they don't. You showed up every day and you made it happen.

That is what creativity in community looks like. That is the whole point.

And this week at Cannes, a NYU student won the top student film prize — selected from 2,747 submissions across 662 film schools worldwide. The next generation. Already here. Already making work that stops people. CampaignLive

Nobody waited. Nobody asked for permission. They all just made something.

That is your Creative Signature. Completely, stubbornly, beautifully human.

What's Trending

The conversation everywhere this week — on social, in studios, in writers' rooms — is about what it means to make something together. The Colbert finale. The Cannes student films. The friends at the Marché du Film. The creative work cutting through the noise right now is not solo — it is community-driven. Real people, real stakes, real connection. The algorithm cannot replicate a room full of people who trust each other completely. Creative Boom

Today's Prompt

Who is one person from your creative community — a collaborator, a colleague, a former teammate — that you have not told recently what they mean to you?

Reach out today. Not a like. A real message. Tell them.

Have a beautiful weekend.
